Barthelmas Park
830 Kingston Pike Circleville, OH 43113
Current Facilities: 1 shelter house, playground, 5 baseball
diamonds, several soccer fields (more are made during fall soccer),
concession area, and 2 permanent bathrooms
Barthelmas Park is approximately 35-40 acres in size. Although
Barthelmas is not as easy for people to walk to, it is also a busy
park during the months it is open. It is home to the youth soccer
that offers programs in both the spring and fall. On the weekends in
the fall the park is generally full and finding a parking space is a
challenge. Again, as with Ted Lewis, the shelter house can be
reserved by calling the park office at 477-8051.
Current organized programming at park: youth soccer, youth baseball,
and softball
Youth Soccer is one of the largest groups that use Barthelmas Park.
They run two seasons, spring and fall. The Soccer league also
sponsors a traveling team and host several tournaments throughout
the park season. Again, the diamond use during the summer is at a
premium. Diamond use is scheduled in February with few dates left
open. Between practices and games all 5 diamonds get a lot of play.
Barthelmas Park also received a gift from the Sunrise Rotary this
year. The Sunrise Rotary purchased and helped install a new, large
piece of playground equipment. This was a great addition to the
current playground area.
Future goals: Install basketball court(s), paving of all areas, more
shelter houses/picnic areas, improve grounds to allow for more
soccer fields, improvement of ball diamond outfields, more use of
concession area, paint bathrooms.
